# Make mids.db

Python3 script creates a MID (Marine Identification Digit) database.
MID is part of MMSI and determines country (among other things). 


USAGE:
 - Copy Excel file from https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-R/terrestrial/fmd/Pages/mid.aspx
 - Convert it to a csv document
 - Run Python 3 script: `./make_mids_db.py` 
 - Copy file to /AIS folder on SDCARD
Added country to AIS app, so you know from which country a vessel is. It's using the MID database, which is also part of the PR. mids.db should be placed in /AIS folder on SD card. 2022-03-26 11:05:13 +00:00			`# Make mids.db`
